Services include:
We offer in-house repair services for many types of equipment. Examples include (but are by no means limited to) fader replacement, repair of dimmers, amplifiers and power supplies.
One of the first services we ever provided was conversion of items to be used as ‘practical’ (working) props on stage. We’ve had the chance to work on some fantastic projects for customers in the past, from candle lanterns to two bar electric fires, vintage telephone bells to giant inflatable wobbly men, Geiger counters to pyrotechnic camera flashes.
Features we’ve been asked to incorporate include DMX or wireless offstage control, low voltage/battery operation, authentic sound from the device itself and automated moving parts.
We welcome your next project/challenge!
We can design and fabricate custom panels from plastics, wood or metal. We offer powder coating or painted finishes and custom laser engraving. Panels can be rack mountable, flat plates or custom enclosures. We can laser engrave items up to 500 x 300mm in size or work with other fabricators to offer larger sizes and other CNC services. We can work with you to incorporate switches, fuses, connectors, displays, meters, ventilation, labelling, logos etc. Panels can be supplied empty, populated or fully wired.
Working predominantly in the corporate environment (usually under a dedicated lead) we have experience installing audio-visual and video conferencing solutions. We can undertake most practicalities of small to medium installations and have particular skills in the areas of termination and rack wiring which extend to larger projects.
We make cable assemblies to your specification, either in our workshop or onsite. Choose your favourite cable, connectors, heatshrink, sleeving, Velcro ties, labelling etc. Specify anything you like from striping dimensions to solder type.
An expanding area of our work is two-way business radio. What started as sourcing and maintaining our own fleet of hire radios, quickly turned into a service we provide to several other events companies who asked us to do the same for them. General used radio equipment sales grew from this as we inevitably chose to standardise a select few models for our hire stock. This leaves us with a surplus of perfectly usable, industry standard radio equipment to sell. As customers are sometimes growing their existing fleet and already have a licence in place, we are able to provide programming as required to get everything ‘talking together’.
Our used radio equipment gets a great deal of our attention before sale. This usually consists of provisional testing, thorough cleaning (often inside and out), adding spare parts, checking battery health, updating, programming, final testing and applying a protective dressing that restores and protects the plastic housings. Our ‘best seller’ has become a set of six DP4400 or DP4400e radios with a six-way charger, all programmed up ready to go on one of Ofcom’s standard business licences.
Our own radio hire stock consists primarily of Motorola MotoTRBO products. We have portables (handhelds) from the DP3441, DP3661 and DP4000 series, mobiles (vehicle or desktop) from the DM4600 series and SLR5500 repeaters. Most of our stock is GPS enabled. We have a great relationship with several other events companies locally whose stock we maintain and between us we can supply larger events with up to a few hundred radios.
As we have moved into other specialist areas, a shrinking area of our work is sound/lighting equipment hire. You are very welcome to continue to make queries regarding your event and we’ll be happy to recommend someone if we can no longer help you directly.
Our hires are usually provided on a ‘wet’ basis where equipment is transported, installed, removed and often operated by us. Our services have previously included providing packages for fetes, fairs, weddings, parties, schools, Scout/Guide events, charity concerts, amateur dramatics, church events, drama groups, sports events and many others.
As we have downsized this area, much of our equipment has been or is being offered for sale, used. Please contact us for an up to date list of available equipment.
